Who We Are

Brant Grote

President & Founder

Brant was born and raised in Aberdeen, SD. After graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1972, he went to South Dakota School of Mines & technology in Rapid City, SD where he obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1976. After graduating, he went to work for Shell Oil where he worked as a Reservoir Engineer in the Hugoton Field. He continued his career in oil and gas with Shell Oil Company in Denver and Anadarko Oil Company in Denver and Calgary, Alberta. In 1983 he founded Timberline & Gas and has been the president since.

Bryce Grote

Director of Operations

Bryce was born in Denver, CO. When Timberline was formed, his father moved the family to Pratt, KS to be near the field operations. In 1989 the family moved to Rapid City, SD where he graduated from Stevens High School in 1997. Bryce then attended South Dakota School of Mines & Technology where he obtained a B.S. degree in Computer Science. He has worked as a software developer and an IT Specialist before coming to Timberline. He currently oversees company IT, remote sensing work, corporate expansion, as well as assisting with daily operations.
